There comes a time in life we all experience. A time of silence. A time of loneliness. A time of sorrow, hurt, anger and remorse. A time we feel utterly cold to the bone. A time we question our very own will to live.
Letting go of love, indeed, is the only thing harder than holding on to it. It’s so easy to cling to memories of the past. It’s so easy to dwell on reflections as they slowly fade into the darkest corners of your mind. But memories won’t hold you back. They won’t comfort you. They won’t warm you from the night’s bitter cold.
Time is a given. It’s the reality we all sooner or later must come to face. We must step forth out of the shadows and once again feel the burning warmth of the sun. We must let it melt the ice from our fingertips so we can learn anew how it feels to touch, how it feels to be touched.
Set down the stale photographs that color your world black and white. Open up your eyes to all the beautiful colors that surround you now. Can’t you see them calling to you? Oh, won’t you answer them? Won’t you open up your heart and free the repressed feelings? Learn to dance with the unchained emotions.
The time has come to learn that indeed there are two sides of love; hanging on, and letting go. Hanging on to lost love only distorts its true beauty. It taints the memories and diseases your heart. You must learn to let go. Letting go won’t shame the love or make it less than it really was. Letting go only lets you fully appreciate the sweetness of the love experienced.
Reach out to the world, you’ll see the world has been reaching to you. Hold true to yourself and you’ll find that you still can smile, you still can laugh, and you still can love.
Better now! :) Happy.
